03 - In a large bowl, beat softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and creamy, approximately 2 minutes.
04 - Add eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition. Mix in vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
05 - Gradually stir dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
06 - Fold chocolate chips into dough until evenly distributed throughout.
07 - Sop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing approximately 2 inches apart to allow for spreading.
08 - Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden and centers appear set.
09 - Let cookies rest on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
