# What's Needed:

→ Meats

01 - 1/2 lb ground beef

→ Spices & Seasonings

02 - 1 tbsp taco seasoning
03 - 1/2 tsp salt
04 - 1/4 tsp black pepper

→ Dairy

05 - 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
06 - 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
07 - 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

→ Dough

08 - 1 can (14 oz) refrigerated pizza dough

→ Optional

09 - Fresh cilantro or chives, chopped

# How to Make It:

01 - Preheat oven to 400°F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Brown ground beef in skillet over medium heat until crumbly. Drain excess fat.
03 - Stir in taco seasoning, salt, pepper, and 2 tbsp water. Simmer 2-3 minutes. Set aside to cool slightly.
04 - Roll pizza dough into rectangle approximately 12 × 16 inches. Cut into 8 equal strips.
05 - Place spoonful of seasoned beef and cheese mixture along one edge of each strip. Fold dough over filling and pinch edges tightly to seal.
06 - Place sticks seam-side down on prepared baking sheet. Brush tops with melted butter.
07 - Bake 15-20 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
08 - Sprinkle with fresh herbs if desired. Serve warm with salsa, guacamole, or sour cream.

# Tips for Success:

01 -
  • The dough gets irresistibly golden and slightly crispy while staying soft inside
  • These are basically handheld tacos that do not fall apart while you eat them
02 -
  • Let the beef cool slightly before filling the dough or the cheese will start melting too fast and make sealing difficult
  • Pinching the dough edges firmly is not optional, or you will end up with cheesy leaks all over your baking sheet
03 -
  • The seam side must be down on the baking sheet or the sticks will unravel while baking
  • Leftovers reheat surprisingly well in a 180°C oven for about 8 minutes, though they rarely last that long
