01 - In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup water and 1 cup granulated sugar.
02 - Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring continuously until the sugar fully dissolves, approximately 3 to 4 minutes.
03 - Remove from heat and allow the syrup to cool for 2 minutes.
04 - Stir in 1 1/2 teaspoons pure peppermint extract until evenly incorporated.
05 - Let the syrup cool completely before transferring it to a clean glass bottle or jar with a tight-fitting lid.
06 - Store the syrup in the refrigerator for up to one month. Shake well before each use.
